Lokal Burgers & Beer

A new burgers joint opened up not too long ago in Coconut Grove on the corner of a busy and promising street filled with other highly rated eating establishments.  Lokal Burgers & Beer menu is filled with local ingredients from different parts of Florida.  From this delicious homemade guacamole with avocados from homestead to their Florida grass-fed beef and daily grinding their meats in house to free range chicken and local fish.

They even have a house made veggie burger but I wasn't particularly in the mood for a burger so I rather decided on the Pink Tacos made with Bang Bang Shrimp.  OMG! Sounds pretty ordinary right? Wrong!  This was probably the best shrimp tacos that I have ever had.  When you take a bite of the taco you instantly taste the distinct flavor of the shrimp and then the crunchy of the cabbage, onions and popping flavor of the cilantro.  It all goes together so wonderfully well and knowing that its all sustainable and local ingredients makes the dinning experience that much better.

Im not a relatively big beer drinker but the atmosphere called for a light cold beer.  This banana bread beer is true to its name but in a good way.  Large notes of banana come through but in a subtle and refreshing way and good sweetness to balance the spicy salsa dip that came with the guacamole and shrimp tacos.
